36. On the opposite end of the bracelet, secure a new two-foot (61 cm) length of thread to the starfish at the opposite end of the bracelet. In this example, Starfish 5. Exit from the tip of the arm that reaches furthest from the opposite end of the bracelet. Pick up 18A. Attach the 18A to the adjacent starfish (in this case, Starfish 2) by stitching through the tip of an unattached arm (Fig. 17). Before reinforcing, make sure your starfish button fits easily through the loop and holds the bracelet closed. Adjust the bead count, if needed, by undoing the 18A and adding more beads. Retrace the thread path at least twice to reinforce. Weave in, secure, and trim your thread.
